Bingo 101 what you absolutely need to know about

It is quite surprising and amusing at the same time that most of the people aware of the game bingo still associate it with some old ladies. The reality, however, suggests that the situation is quite opposite. The game is getting on well with younger people as well and that it is now a very popular game played and enjoyed by both males and females. Another reason for the game being popular is that it has elements that defy to be resisted by human temptations: making money and having fun.The game of bingo can be played by all age groups and attracts them from any ethnic origin as it can be exciting and can take an express speed, with its basic concept being that players have a task of filling certain area of their card or cards and blurting out the word bingo. Before getting to know the general rules of the game, lets start on a high note. In this game every wins once that is to say in every regular bingo players life the probability of a win is very high and it is your lucky day if the stakes are high.Bingo is relatively easier to learn and play but nevertheless theres no harm in knowing the general rules. Every player has to have minimum of one card on which there are 25 slots with numbers written in them and one being a free space. A player can also have more than one card in the likely event of increasing the probability of his or her win. There will be a rotating barrel with numbered balls in it, which the announcer will take out one by one and announcing the number on the balls, which is taken out of the barrel. The players mark the numbers announced if it is in their card. Like this the game continues till the player has marked the five slots in a column, row or a diagonal. When this happens the player is said to have struck a bingo and has to say the word. The marked numbers are then announced to check the accuracy of the card and once verified to be authentic the game ends and a new one begins and the players have to clear the marks on their card. The game is usually played in clubs or large halls, though there being an ample amount of opportunity of one being able to play it throughout ones country. The game can also be played online, as there are quite a quantum of sites offering the facility or with the help of bingo software. There are various tournaments also organised in this game and they cater to the requirements as poised by different strata of people, some may like to play it big like in tournaments with bigger jackpots as the grand prize or on the other hand they may like to settle with smaller low level tournaments with the prize varying accordingly.I think one might as well be excited to try this game already. So, lets play!! About Author

Strange Goings On Over At eBay

What makes people list some very weird and outrageous items on Ebay? Is it their ego that drives them? To think that thousands of people will read and maybe even bid on their ridiculous offerings - is that it?What sort of offerings can be categorised as strange you might ask? Well, this author has seen auctions for: virginity (this was removed because lets face it - thats prostitution and definitely not something that Ebay really want to promote!), a hilarious auction for a stick - yes a stick! The offending stick was part of a chair which broke when the seller sat on it! He was so outraged that he decided it would be a saleable item. And starting at .01c, he was right! He actually did sell it for close to $1.00 Now that doesnt mean you should all rush out to your local forest and collect firewood and give each piece an interesting history about which to write and offer up on Ebay! Also seen was a piece of toast! This was so ridiculous, that one TV station in Australia featured that piece of toast on an evening comedy program and the hit counter went berserk after that! So it seems that anything, which could be classified as strange, has a place on Ebay.Anyone got any old false teeth perhaps? Im sure even those would get a bid! Or how about that most horrible thing you bought on Ebay, which could be classified as the worst, buying choice you ever made?Ive got one of those - what self-respecting Ebay supporter hasnt? Thinking it might be fun to buy a wig after having my long hair cut short, I turned to - you guessed it - Ebay - to spend my cash on a wig. Boy oh boy, what a disaster that turned out to be! I purchased this gorgeous looking blonde, long haired, curly looking piece which promised to make me look sexy and turn heads! The only heads this disaster would have turned would have been in true Exorcist style! This thing which was advertised as New, with Tags was an absolutely revolting disaster! It was made of what can only be described as raffia, was orange in colour and was glued in bits to the mesh which fits all sizes of head - all but mine, that is! Too small, too horrible, too funny for words! It now sits on the corner piece of our banister - I keep thinking Ill paint some eyes and a big red mouth there. It certainly has been a talking point with lots of laughs and wise cracks at mums worst Ebay purchase! It almost seems a shame to sell it now in the weird category because Sally seems to now have a home here!Ebay - not just a place to buy and sell - a place to find outrageously funny odds and sods to keep readers of all ages amused! Film Budgets - Insider Tips For Film Students

Film Budgeting - Insider Tips For Film Students(Copyright 2005 - John Gaskin) This is my 20th year working in the film industry on over 40 film productions. Throughout that time I have never met a new film school graduate who has a clue about handling the most important aspect of ALL filmmaking - the MONEY! I had always assumed (wrongly, it turns out) that film students just weren’t interested in knowing about film budgets. However after a recent survey of film students at a reputable film college we learned that film students DO intuitively understand that knowing the language of film budgeting is crucial to their careers in film. Surprisingly, over 80% were enthusiastic about learning more about film budgeting! Here’s what we discovered from that survey (completed in late September, 2005):1.Over 80% of film students are not only interested in learning more about budgeting for film productions, they are emphatic about it!2.In all cases, film students expect to find information about film budgeting from the internet, or as recommended reading from their professors.3.We also learned that there are no references or books available to film schools or film students on this very needed subject. Those working in the film business recognize how important it is to be familiar with film budgeting, if not technically proficient. The confidentiality of film budgets makes it extremely difficult, even for working filmmakers, to get familiar with film budgeting. (I have a true story in my book about a meeting that I had with Ron Howard in 1993 where he wanted to learn specifics about the budget for his film - in spite of having been in the film business for over 30 years as an actor and budding director).Learning about film budgets while on-the-job comes at the expense of hard-knocks, expensive film budgeting software and late night self-training with a technical textbook (if you can find one). In the 20 years that I’ve been working in the film business, I have NEVER shown a film budget to anyone but a select few insiders - Producers, Production Managers, Studios, Bonding Companies, etc. So, exposure to actual film budgets really is an insider’s privilege - which I am about to open the door to for my readers. (Keep in mind the figures shown are samples only. The figures are real enough, but are not drawn from my actual past/present/future film productions.)How can film students get familiar with film budgets while they have the time and opportunity? The only colleges with film budgeting in their syllabus (that I could find after hours of internet searching) was in a specialty course for Production Managers at the New York Film Academy, and through mentors at the American Film Institute (where, I’m proud to say, parts of my book are being used by a mentor there, who has a long record of producing films including a term as Vice President of Production at MGM).The only solution that I see for film students, and for working film crew, to get familiar with film budgeting is to provide them with the information myself. But, what kind of information, and at what level of detail? The answer to that rhetorical question is - in as simple a format as possible, yet still be effective. By effective, I mean that any training in the area of film budgeting will actually help you impress producers for those few film jobs, get your script into production, find financing, be rehired for more film contracts, be more cost effective cinematographers, etc. Also, the basic concept of translating creative ideas into a budgeting process is new to most people, especially those educated in film schools, so that concept should be presented first.Film students don’t need to become keen budget technicians. However, they DO need to get enough exposure to film budgets to understand the fundamentals, and to be able to communicate to film producers, film studios, bonding companies, banks, financiers, etc. in the same language as would be expected from professional filmmakers. All of the above is covered in my book, Walk The Talk. I have written a series of 7 free articles based on my book. They’re written for the complete novice, so be patient if you’ve already been exposed to film budgeting. You can sign-up, FREE, for 7 weeks of articles at www.talkfilm.biz .There is a seventh article that could have been added for those who haven’t been exposed to the simple administrative procedures like petty cash, purchase orders, check requisitions, etc. Knowing how to use these forms will put you WAY out in front of the pack of job-hungry film students looking for those few film jobs. You’ll need to buy my book at this link Walk The Talk to get that inside advantage. (I have kept the price affordable, specifically with students in mind.)Here are the article titles:1.MAKING IT! In Film Production2. Introduction to Film Budgeting3. Translating Creative Ideas Into the Film Budgeting Process4. Your Participation In Above-the-Line Budgeting5. Your Participation In Below-the-Line Budgeting6. Your Report Card - Comparing The Budget to Actual Costs7. Presentation of the Weekly Cost Report - It’s As Important As the DailiesWhen you read my articles, print them out. Make your own examples. Reread them. Send me your questions if you get stuck. Podcasting, a tutorial

Podcasting — Radio on your MP3 playerPodcasting is the latest buzzword in the computer world. It refers to radio style MP3 recordings that are available for download from web sites. It seems like almost everybody is involved in podcasting. Radio wannabes have at last found their niche — there are podcasts on every subject under the sun.Podcasts can be listened to using any kind of audio software that is installed on your computer, or they can be transferred to an MP3 player. There’s no need to use the Apple iPod MP3 player — the “pod” in podcasting refers to iPod but has no connection to that particular player. The Apple iTunes software, though, can be used to synchronize your podcasts automatically. Simply plug your iPod into the USB port of the computer and any new podcasts will be transferred to the player. But how do you find podcasts? How are they downloaded? There are many websites that have directories of podcasts. You can search for podcasts by subject or region. After finding a few that look appealing you can subscribe to them using an RSS feed. RSS is a syndication format which allows you to automatically receive content that you have subscribed to. RSS is used on many types of web sites — you can subscribe to everything from the latest news and weather to shopping information.Once you have subscribed to an RSS feed the content is downloaded automatically so that you can view it any time. The same thing with podcasting — new podcasts are downloaded to your computer so that you can listen to them at your convenience.People have an Apple iPod MP3 player are not the only ones who can synchronize their podcasts. Software is available which allows you to synchronize content with any type of MP3 player. It works the same as Apple’s iTunes — just plug the MP3 player into the USB port and new content is automatically downloaded.Want to get into podcasting yourself? All you need is a web site and a microphone. Simply record your radio shows and upload them to your web site in MP3 format. Add an RSS feed and you too can participate in the exciting world of podcasting! About Author

SMS Gaming

SMS Gaming. By Robert Lett. 05-04Find out more of what it’s all about: www.robertlett.com/whatisit5.htm Using the Physical World as Your Game Board. This is not a Kinky game! SMS stands for Short Message Service. Just like our last article, this can be fun for teens and adults. You just have to do it on a different scale. Pick a location approximately 4 square city blocks of a favorite area where your teen group or friends like to be. Spend an afternoon picking locations from that area and creating hints that can be text paged easily. Pick at least ten locations if not more and three to five hints for each location. Put the hints in order of hardest to figure out to the simplest, which will almost tell them where it is. You can mix the Location Hunt game with a Scavenger Hunt! Once they find the correct location they now have to find something else at that location. Either physically getting something to bring back, taking a digital photo or taking a video to bring back as proof. And this can make for a fun experience at the end of the game when everyone involved shows back up at the starting point. The best way to play it is only send one hint at a time, this way they don’t know the next location or what they are supposed to do when they get there. You can give a list out at the beginning of the game, but there is a little more mystery if they have no way to plan ahead. If you have 15 or more people, set them up in groups. Only one page to one of the phones in each group. Send the groups in different directions, i.e.: One group might start with hint number 10, another group starts at hint 7, and so on. If everyone starts at 1 and goes straight through, they will end up following each other. This only keeps it fair. And if you have one location that’s hard to find, and you give the first group that looks for it the easiest hint, when the next group is trying to find that location, you must give them the easiest from the beginning. That’s really the only way to keep it fair. You need to come up with a small prize for the first group to make it to the final location. For teens, you might come up with movie tickets for that night. For the adults, hmmm, a free round at the final location would be nice! Just about anything will do, it will give them something to fight for. Depending on the age and ability of the individuals, they may begin to getting tired, if so you can always skip to the last location where the prize might be or just end the game when they find the next location. You might want to be ready with as many locations as you can think of. You can always use them on the next hunt. Email me with any new or better ideas on “Creating your own breaks”. Thank you.
